Uncharted by Travey Garvis Graves

Uncharted - Tracey Garvis-Graves

Uncharted is just a short little Novella that MUST be read after On the Island. It's the story of "Bones" and a man named Owen.

This was a great little story, that did draw me in right off the bat. You get little snippets from Anna and TJ but not a lot. It really is a separate, but connected, story. As it went it did slow down a wee bit. Not as engrossing as On the Island, but still really enjoyable.

Everything is wrapped up nicely, and it does tie up other loose ends that you might have had after reading On the Island.

The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa

I finally got a teeny review for this done. I really don't even know what all to say about it *sigh* Usually I am so rambly about books but this one left such a hole in my heart that I don't know how to put it all in to words!

Getting Real

Getting Real - Ainslie Paton ok..hmm...on the fence with where to put this one...I liked it OK. 2 stars feels kind of mean though. I really do like the general idea of this book. There are tons of rock star books out there with male leads so i was excited about this one having a female as the rock star. It was a different and fresh approach!Lets start with the characters. I really did love Jake. He's so good and wholesome. Such a great guy and strong male, which was a nice balance with the Arielle. Arielle is hard to place. I know some people hated her. I was rooting for her though. Even though she was a rock star she felt like and underdog to me, and I always root for the underdogs. I can't help it! She was very stand off-ish and mean at times, but I could see through it and really thought there could be more at the heart of her.The story is sweet....but it felt too long and too disjointed. There were subplots flying all over the place. This could have been like a 2 book series with a spin off for Rand because I don't think he got enough time in this one...but I was annoyed when it would switch to him because it just drug the book out and I wanted more Rie and Jake. It would have been nice if there were labels for when the POV changed. Sometimes it was from paragraph to paragraph and could be super confusing. I did enjoy this a bit, but it's not one I would read again or anything.

Suddenly Royal by Nichole Chase | Review and Giveaway

The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa

I finally got my review done for The Immortal Rules! It's a wee bit rambly! <3 <3

Suddenly Royal

Suddenly Royal - Nichole Chase Finished this book in one setting. It is a super sweet and fun read. Perfect for the mood I was in honestly!!! Really enjoyed it. My only complaint is that there wasn't tons of depth. It could have gone in a few different ways, but it went light instead and I was ok with that. I would have been happy with a bit more as well though. :)

The Eternity Cure

The Eternity Cure - Julie Kagawa I hate this book and I hate Julie Kagawa!!!!!!!!!! Why oh why?! The ending...ugh....still processing. *sigh*

The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden Series #1)

The Immortal Rules - Julie Kagawa I don't really know what I was expecting going in, but for some reason this book was nothing like I thought it would be. I guess it's because it was "another vampire series" in my head. I was sooooooo wrong! This was more "I am legend" (which I haven't actually read..only watched) than it was say...Vampire Academy. It was gritty and intense and kind of gross at times honestly. It wasn't lovey dovey or sweet or even romantic, though we do get a couple glimpses of that...but that's all they were..glimpses. If you were to blink you would miss them. The story takes place in a futuristic society where vampires rule and most of the population has been wiped out by a virus called Red Lung. The people who weren't wiped out have turned into scavengers...or rabids. Allison, our heroine, is a scavenger but when given the choice to die or become a vampire she chooses the latter. She is forced to flee from her home town of New Covington and stumbles upon a group of people on a quest to find Eden. She decides to travel with them while hiding what she really is.The whole time I was literally just shaking my head. How it could all work out was beyond me, but I was totally rooting for her in a weird way because honestly I didn't think she was that likable. Most people aren't that easy going and friendly when they have been fighting for survival though, and I could recognize that and relate to her because of everything she had been through. The "love interest", if you can call it that, was Ezekiel Cross aka Zeke. I loved him. I can see why some people wouldn't....he's very good and the trend now a days is a bad boy. While I too can appreciate the appeal of the bad boys in this world, I so love a good hero on occasion. Someone you can always root for because you know their intentions are always good. You never have to wonder about their motives. They are steady and Zeke was definitely steady for me. I am getting rambly..but I am almost done!! The vampires in this book are good old fashioned vampires for the most part. They are the bad guys. They kill and hunt and they enjoy it while they do. I know people say they wish there more books like that again and this was one of them. They aren't as creepy as the rabids...but they are definitely not the good guys here. My biggest complaint is that at times it was slow. There is a lot of descriptive writing, which is nice for visualization, it did make some of the chapters really drawn out. I read somewhere that these were being made into a movie and honestly while reading them, I felt like it was written for that purpose. It wasn't annoying enough to detract from the story..just enough to make it drag for me sometimes.

First Grave on the Right

First Grave on the Right - Darynda Jones loooove this! If you are a fan of the Sookie Stackhouse type books you have to read these! Charley is seriously hilarious and Reyes....*swoon*
