In the end I ended up liking this book. It is just that it skipped around a lot so it was very choppy to me. The first book didn't stick me very well apparently and this isn't a book you can just pick up without having read it so I was confused a lot of the time. Probably until I was over half way through there were still bits that I didn't quite understand. It all ended up coming together in a way that was really good though and I like Laini Taylor's writing in the sense that she is very descriptive without being boring. These are really original stories which you don't find very often anymore so I liked it. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could.
